The takeaway
Prompts for the short copy that runs during the sale: portal banner, cart upsell line, order-now message and countdown text.
The prompts
During the sale you need a lot of short copy at once, and it all has to agree on the offer and the deadline. Write it in one sitting with these prompts, then paste it into each surface.
What to paste in
- The live offer, exactly as configured, with its end date and time
- Character limits for each surface you will update
- One line of copy you liked from last year, if you have it
The prompts
Run them in order in one chat, so each prompt builds on the last answer. Replace everything in [BRACKETS].
Our BFCM offer for subscribers is: [OFFER], ending [DATE, TIME, TIME ZONE].
Write three options for a customer portal banner, each under [LIMIT] characters, one call to action each. One plain, one warm, one urgent.
Write three one-line cart messages that suggest adding a product to the next subscription order during the sale, each under 90 characters. Product: [PRODUCT]. Sale price: [PRICE].
Write a short message inviting subscribers to bring their next order forward and get it now at the sale price. Their next order date is [NEXT ORDER DATE]. Under 60 words, with one button label of up to three words.
Write countdown text for the last 24 hours in four versions: 24 hours left, 12 hours, 3 hours, final hour. Each under 40 characters.
Check the output
- Every piece should state the same offer and deadline; search the output for the end time before you paste.
- Keep the plain banner as your fallback if the urgent one underperforms.
